David’s working life was spent in business, retail, construction and manufacturing. He has over 40 years of experience . As well as being employed in the role of senior manager, he then went on to run his own successful businesses.
The story of how David got involved with Asylum Seekers and Refugees is interesting. He found he had a surplus of retail stock, sport shoes to be precise and in wanting to find a worthy cause he went to Open Doors in Hull to see if they might use them.
Here, Dave found out about Asylum seekers and Refugees, and realised with his experience in business management and employment , he could do a lot to help. The rest is history.
He first became a volunteer for Open Doors and through this role, he heard about Welcome House and became a volunteer. He became a Trustee in August 2025.
In 2024, David set up Yorkshire Integration, a volunteer Charitable Community group whose aim is to integrate the British Community with the Migrant Community. David now dedicates his life to helping others, he speaks passionately about the role of Asylum seekers and Refugees within our local community.
Not that he has a lot of spare time, but when he does ,he loves to listen to music , all styles , all genres. He particularly likes ‘The Beatles’.
